GARDEN OF ANGELS is South Pasadena's premiere boutique preschool. We offer a Reggio and Multicultural inspired preschool and Transitional Kindergarten program for children 2 years through entry into Kindergarten. We believe children thrive in an environment they create with teachers who see and respect children’s ideas and interest.  We embrace imagination, wonder, and meaning. We value children’s innate curiosity, creativity and capacity for learning. This is how our curriculum is born. Above all, at Garden of Angels, we form a community where children feel they belong and know they are loved.

The curriculum at GARDEN OF ANGELS is unique among Pasadena area preschools. We embrace:

  • The Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, which encourages young children and their teachers to explore, question and discover in a stimulating environment with high quality materials and strong integration of art into learning.

  • Play-based learning. We take play seriously, as the natural work of the child, providing a variety of fun-filled group and individual learning activities each day.

  • A hands-on integrated curriculum which encourages the love of learning. We use the child's natural interests and ideas to motivate learning, creating and building on teachable moments.

  • The unique experience of small class size including a low adult to child ratio creating an environment where children can feel confident and secure.

  • A warm nurturing home-based setting with daily park visits and walking field trips. Extending our curriculum into the community allows the children to become more connected to their community and the community to become more connected to our children.

  • As part of the curriculum Garden of Angels offers Music, Cooking, Yoga, and Botany.

Our Reggio-inspired curriculum is flexible and emerges from children's ideas observations and innate curiosity.  We believe the best way for children to learn is through play.  We use their natural interest to develop skills that will be needed in kindergarten.  Parents are encouraged to continue these conversations with their children at home, or to participate in the classroom as volunteers.  Most importantly, we strive to develop a lifelong enthusing for learning.
